Purana has a lot of positives: very nice staff, excellent restaurant and comfortable clean rooms. There are also some negatives: 1) the resort is built on a hillside so there are steps and hills everywhere: to access the restaurant, to get down to the "beach", to get to the pool. If mobility is an issue, this is a problem. 2) it is isolated from the "action" and the best beaches, which are on the other side (eastern) of the island. Unless you can ride a moped, you are stuck at a resort with no real beach A pet peeve of mine is when the room safe is not secured to the wall or to a cabinet, making it useless as it can easily fit into a backpack and be opened off-site. When I asked the front desk to have someone secure the safe, they refused to do it because it would put holes in the cupboard. Consequently, we had to carry our passports and money with us the whole time. What ever happened to the motto "the customer is always right"?
